The STORY OF
LEVIATHAN ARTWORKS
Leviathan Artworks was founded in 2017 by Orlando-based artist and printmaker Robert Fischer while he was completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts at UCF.
What began as a way to share his love of printmaking and ink illustration quickly evolved into a passion for wearable art. Fueled by the love for the artwork of metal music and band tees, Robert gravitated towards the idea of putting art on clothing - turning shirts into canvases you could take anywhere. To him, wearing the art that you connect with is the ultimate form of self-expression. Much like spotting a favorite band’s artwork on a stranger’s shirt and instantly feeling a connection, Robert realized his art could spark the same kind of conversations and excitement.
From the start, he envisioned Leviathan Artworks as something different than your typical apparel brand. While he respects clever branding, Robert didn't want his designs drowned out by flashy logos or gimmicky brand text. Instead, he lets the artwork speak for itself. Branding is intentionally minimal—a subtle logo on the back of a shirt or text along a sleeve. In this way, each piece can be appreciated much like a framed piece on a gallery wall.
His work draws on the things that have inspired him since childhood: horror films, classic literature, ancient myths, heavy music, gothic architecture, and the beauty of the natural world. From mythology and fantasy to witchcraft, gothic romance, and dark folklore, his art channels those themes through bold black-and-white ink illustrations and traditional block prints. The result? Hand-crafted works that feel raw and timeless- like they could have been pulled from another age. His works come alive with the texture and spirit of traditional craft.
His goal is to create art that resonates deeply, transporting viewers to another place or time—away from the noise of modernity and into worlds both haunting and beautiful.
Today, Robert and his wife Cassi continue to grow Leviathan Artworks together. Traveling across the country, they showcase their work at conventions and art shows while collaborating on new ideas to keep the brand evolving. With each piece, they strive to offer something that feels not only original but enduring—art that you can wear, live with, and make your own.
