Leviathan Aeternalis

In alchemy, the Leviathan's Cross is the symbol for sulphur, one of the three essential elements of life. Sulphur, or brimstone, is also spiritually analogous to the human soul. It's association with the Leviathan makes it a symbol of depth and surfacing. Alchemically, it has the qualities of masculine, hot and dry, and when combined with Mercury (feminine, cold and moist), they are considered the parents of all metals. The double cross can be a sign of many cross-roads, signifying free choice. The infinity underlines the constant and infinite nature of the eternal universe.
