Atlas, one of the titans of Greek mythology, was sentenced to hold up the celestial heavens after the Titanomachy, the war with the Olympians. Here he is depicted as a symbol of death, as Atlas Telamon, which means “enduring Atlas”; for what endures more than death? In this version he is holding a Merkabah, the divine vehicle of light used to ascend to the higher realms.

Atlas is a screen print, edition of 50, measuring 9 x 12 inches.
